About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stocksbridge, specialising in structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and procurement for structural steel fabrication and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost reports for structural steel projects.
- Monitor project expenditure, manage variations, and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Conduct valuations, interim payments, and final account settlements.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve cost and contract issues.
- Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Support procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations.
- Maintain accurate cost records and provide regular reports to senior management.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in structural steel or heavy fabrication projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement practices.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills for client and subcontractor liaison.
- Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Estimator, or similar) and MS Office.
