We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stocksbridge, specialising in structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and procurement for structural steel fabrication and construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost reports for structural steel projects.
  • Monitor project expenditure, manage variations, and ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Conduct valuations, interim payments, and final account settlements.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve cost and contract issues.
  • Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Support procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Maintain accurate cost records and provide regular reports to senior management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in structural steel or heavy fabrication projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement practices.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for client and subcontractor liaison.
  • Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Estimator, or similar) and MS Office.
