Not every detailing role is about structural frames.

Some are about creating the steelwork that people notice first.

This opportunity is with a specialist architectural metalwork contractor known for delivering bespoke staircases, balustrades and complex steel features on high‑end commercial and residential projects.

Their work combines engineering precision with craftsmanship, producing steelwork that's as visually impressive as it is functional.

With a growing workload and investment in new projects, they're looking for an experienced Tekla Detailer to join their design team in Nottingham.

Role

If you enjoy tackling bespoke detailing rather than repetitive steel frames, this role offers plenty of variety.

You’ll work closely with designers, project managers and the workshop to develop practical, buildable solutions for architectural metalwork projects.

You’ll

  • Produce detailed models and fabrication drawings using Solid Works.
  • Detail bespoke staircases, balustrades and architectural metalwork.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to develop manufacturing information.
  • Liaise with fabrication and project teams to resolve technical queries.
  • Ensure drawings are accurate, practical and ready for production.
  • Support projects from concept through to manufacture.
  • What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Experience using Solid Works.
  • Previous experience detailing architectural metalwork, ideally bespoke staircases.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Living within a commutable distance of NG15.

Desirable

  • Experience working on bespoke steelwork projects.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Why Apply?

  • Work on bespoke, high‑quality architectural metalwork rather than repetitive projects.
  • Join an established business with a strong reputation for craftsmanship.
  • Be part of a collaborative design team where your ideas and technical expertise are valued.
  • Long‑term career opportunity within a growing specialist contractor.
  • Apply

If you’re an experienced detailer with Solid Works experience and a passion for bespoke architectural metalwork, we’d love to tell you more.
