An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established structural steel contractor delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This role offers the chance to take ownership of commercial management across a varied portfolio of steelwork projects within a supportive and experienced team environment.
What you'll do:
- Manage all commercial and financial aspects of structural steel projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and project forecasts
- Carry out valuations, variations, and applications for payment
- Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure commercial accuracy and compliance
- Support procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Monitor project costs and report on financial performance
- Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and site teams
- Assist with final account preparation and negotiation
You’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel or the wider construction industry
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and contract documents
- Experience with cost control, valuations, and variations
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (preferred)
