An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist structural steel and engineering business delivering high-quality fabricated steelwork and construction projects across the UK.
This role is ideal for a delivery-focused Project Manager with strong experience in structural steelwork, fabrication environments, and complex construction project management.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing structural steel and engineering projects from initial planning through fabrication, delivery, and on-site installation. Working closely with design, fabrication, and site teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Projects will include a range of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure steelwork schemes requiring strong coordination and technical understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple structural steelwork projects from inception to completion
- Coordinating design, fabrication, logistics, and site installation activities
- Developing and managing project programmes, budgets, and resources
- Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Overseeing procurement and subcontractor performance
- Monitoring project progress and managing risks, variations, and change control
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and quality standards
- Attending client and site meetings throughout project delivery
- Driving efficient, cost-effective, and buildable project execution
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within structural steelwork or fabrication environments
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, design coordination, and site erection processes
- Experience delivering commercial or industrial construction projects
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage budgets, programmes, and multiple live projects
- Strong knowledge of construction health & safety requirements
- Confident client-facing communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS, or relevant project management qualifications advantageous
