With a growing order book and ambitious plans for the future, they're looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to drive their work-winning strategy and develop the next generation of estimators.

This isn't just about producing estimates. It's about leading people, building client relationships and influencing which projects the business wins next.

The Role

You’ll lead the commercial front end of the business by

  • Managing and developing a high-performing estimating team.
  • Overseeing major structural steel tenders while taking ownership of key enquiries.
  • Building relationships with contractors, consultants and supply chain partners to strengthen future opportunities.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to monitor enquiries, pipeline activity and commercial performance.
  • Supporting value engineering and commercial strategy to maximise project success.
  • Coaching and mentoring estimators to improve performance and deliver consistent results.

You’ll play a key role in shaping both the estimating function and the future growth of the business.

What You’ll Need

Essential

  • Significant estimating experience within structural steel or a related construction sector.
  • Previous leadership or line management experience.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel estimating, commercial processes and tender management.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience pricing complex construction projects.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.

Desirable

  • Qualification in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing Tekla models and supporting value engineering.
  • Professional membership such as MCIOB or RICS.
  • Knowledge of structural steel design and fabrication processes.
