An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a well-established and growing specialist contractor delivering complex steel, hybrid, and structural projects across the UK.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in structural steelwork, fabrication, and buildable engineering solutions who enjoys working closely with design, manufacturing, and project delivery teams.

The Role

You will be involved in the design, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of structural steel and hybrid construction projects across commercial, industrial, education, retail, and leisure sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring designs are practical, fabrication-friendly, and delivered efficiently through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural design and engineering of steelwork and hybrid structures
  • Producing and reviewing structural calculations and technical drawings
  • Liaising with fabrication teams, detailers, architects, and contractors
  • Ensuring designs are compliant with current British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Supporting project delivery from concept through to installation
  • Reviewing fabrication details and connection designs
  • Attending project meetings and providing technical support to site teams
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience within structural steelwork and fabrication environments
  • Strong understanding of steel connection design and fabrication processes
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial structural projects
  • Familiarity with Tekla, AutoCAD, TEDDS, MasterSeries, or similar software
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and workshop requirements
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Chartered status or working toward Chartership would be advantageous
