An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tekla Detailer to join a specialist structural steelwork engineering team delivering a wide range of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the UK.
This role is ideal for a detailer with strong Tekla Structures experience and a solid understanding of fabrication and structural steelwork processes, looking to work on technically interesting and varied projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing accurate and buildable 3D models, fabrication drawings, and workshop information using Tekla Structures, supporting the full lifecycle of structural steel projects from design through to fabrication and erection.
Working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams, you will ensure all detailing outputs are accurate, efficient, and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures
- Preparing general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and connection details
- Ensuring models are fully coordinated and clash-free
- Liaising with structural engineers and project teams to resolve design issues
- Producing accurate workshop information for fabrication teams
- Checking drawings for accuracy, buildability, and compliance with specifications
- Working closely with fabrication and site teams to support project delivery
- Maintaining drawing revisions and project documentation
- Ensuring compliance with relevant British Standards and project requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tekla Detailer within structural steelwork
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures
- Solid understanding of fabrication and steel erection processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working on commercial or industrial steelwork projects
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a project team
- HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline preferred
