An opportunity has become available for a Steel Detailer with experience using Advance Steel to join a growing and well-established steel fabrication business. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate 3D models, GA drawings, and fabrication detailing for a range of architectural and secondary steelwork projects including staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails, and bespoke metalwork.
You’ll work closely with the design, estimating, and fabrication teams, ensuring drawings are clear, accurate, and ready for production.
Key Responsibilities- Create 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings using Advance Steel.
- Produce GA drawings, assembly drawings, and material/bolt lists.
- Interpret engineer and architect drawings and translate into fabrication-ready designs.
- Collaborate with project, design, and workshop teams to resolve technical queries.
- Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, tolerances, and project specifications.
- Support project delivery from concept through to issue for manufacture.
- Proven experience as a Steel Detailer using Advance Steel (essential).
- Background in architectural or structural steelwork.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and steelwork components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Salary up to £40,000 (DOE).
