Are you highly organised, creative and passionate about delivering engaging learning experiences? We’re looking for a Short Course Programmer to join our London team and play a key role in developing and coordinating West Dean’s diverse programme of Short Courses.
Working closely with the Short Course Leader, tutors and colleagues across the College, you’ll help shape an exciting programme that responds to student interests and demand, while ensuring every course is carefully planned and delivered to a high standard. This is a varied role in a busy and creative environment, where your organisation, ideas and ability to build strong relationships will make a real difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll support the development of courses within your allocated subject areas, working with tutors and external specialists to develop course content and introduce new and innovative opportunities.
- You’ll coordinate the practical delivery of courses, making sure tutors and students have the information, resources and support they need.
- You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the College on course preparation, Health & Safety arrangements, workshop requirements and student support.
- You’ll play an important role in maintaining strong relationships with tutors, supporting them during courses and responding to student feedback and queries.
- You’ll also help keep course information accurate, engaging and up to date across the West Dean website and programme materials, as well as contributing to exhibitions and events involving tutors and students.
About You
- You’ll have proven administrative experience, ideally gained within a busy office or educational environment, along with experience in a customer- or student-facing role.
- You’ll be highly organised, accurate and confident managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and time management skills are essential, as is a professional and approachable manner.
- You’ll be a confident IT user, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets and digital systems.
- You’ll be proactive and adaptable, able to take initiative and respond positively when priorities change.
- You’ll also be a strong team player who enjoys building effective relationships with colleagues, tutors and students.
- Experience or knowledge of arts management, education or a similar environment would be advantageous.
The role includes occasional weekend and evening working as part of a rota, so flexibility is important.
