The Children’s Family Trust (The CFT) is a well-established Ofsted Outstanding Registered Charity and Independent Fostering Agency offering various foster placements. We value our Foster Carers highly and are committed to supporting them with excellent remuneration. We work closely with Local Authority Social Workers to keep children safe and secure in loving families.
Job Purpose
You understand the dedication needed to improve children and young people\’s lives. With manageable caseloads, you will have the resources to support our Foster Carers effectively. Your role includes promoting safe care, assessment, recruitment, and training of prospective Foster Carers, and supporting less experienced staff as a mentor.

Job Description
The role involves supporting foster carers and the children placed with them, including:
- Recruiting, assessing, and monitoring foster carers to ensure safe, nurturing environments.
- Ensuring carers understand their roles, responsibilities, and standards, including complaint procedures.
- Supporting carers to meet Training Standards, assessing evidence, and signing off standards.
- Providing supervision and support visits, maintaining records, and engaging with families.
- Supervising and mentoring less-experienced social workers.
- Contributing to and presenting Foster Carer Annual Reviews.
- Negotiating placements with Local Authorities to meet children’s needs.
- Completing paperwork related to incidents and Notifiable Events promptly.
- Attending training to stay updated on legislation.
Requirements
- Degree qualified, registered with Social Work England, with experience in fostering, a full driving license, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
- IT literate, preferably familiar with Charms database, with good record-keeping and admin skills.
- Flexible, eager to learn and progress, and able to promote the organization as a preferred provider.
You should demonstrate professionalism, handle challenging situations, and maintain confidentiality. A full driving license with business cover and insurance is essential for transporting children and young people. An enhanced DBS check is required, which The CFT will fund.
