The Mandolay Hotel is looking for a warm, friendly and professional Full-Time Hotel Receptionist to join our Front Office team at our AA 4 Silver Star hotel in central Guildford, Surrey. This is a varied, guest-facing role where no two days are quite the same. You'll be part of a supportive hotel team, helping to make sure every guest receives a warm welcome and a positive experience from arrival through to departure.

About the Role
As a Hotel Receptionist, you'll be one of the first people our guests meet and an important part of their overall stay. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming guests and providing a friendly, professional check-in and check-out experience
- Handling guest enquiries, requests and occasional complaints
- Taking hotel reservations and processing payments
- Answering telephone calls and responding to emails
- Assisting guests with information about the hotel and local area
- Liaising with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Events and other hotel departments
- Completing reception administration and daily Front Office procedures
- Keeping the reception and entrance areas welcoming and professional
- Supporting the wider hotel operation when required
Hotel reception is an active working environment and this position is predominantly a standing role. Our Front Office operation is designed around a standing reception desk, so you'll need to be comfortable working on your feet for significant periods during your shift. Appropriate rest breaks and seating arrangements are available in line with hotel procedures.
Duty Manager Development
We're also keen to help the successful candidate develop their skills. Once you're settled into the Receptionist role, you'll receive training to undertake Duty Manager shifts from time to time. This is a great opportunity to gain additional hotel management experience and may include supporting the wider hotel operation, assisting colleagues across departments and helping to deal with guest or operational matters during the shift. You'll only be asked to undertake Duty Manager responsibilities once you have received the appropriate training and feel confident in the role.
