Summary

We have a new opportunity for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL or Snr MSL depending on experience) to join our Immunology team. The MSL is a field-based, non-promotional medical and scientific role. The key objective is to build partnerships with external Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) such as clinical investigators, disease area experts, and decision makers, to communicate evidence-based scientific, medical, technical, and developmental issues. The associate works with HCPs utilizing scientific exchange to improve patient care solutions, based on sound scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical evidence. All exchanges must be scientifically accurate, balanced, and non-promotional.

About The Role

Location: This territory includes the East of England from North of London to Sheffield and west towards, but not including, Manchester. The successful candidate must reside within this territory as the role involves significant travel. Candidates must have the right to work permanently in the UK; visa or relocation support are not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with investigators, medical specialists, and healthcare professionals, engaging in non-promotional, evidence-based scientific dialogue and presentations.
  • Support meetings by collecting insights, interpreting data, and collaborating with colleagues across functions including medical, sales, and marketing.
  • Provide medical support for clinical development studies, including site recommendations, training, educational activities, and dissemination of results.
  • Support the Brand Franchise team by identifying HCPs and advisory boards.
  • Act as a field-based scientific and clinical expert for the field force.
  • Identify and facilitate research opportunities aligned with Novartis development objectives, including IITs and MTA research.
  • Implement and support scientific projects such as registries, epidemiology, preclinical, or translational research, following global strategies and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Experience as an MSL from any therapy area or relevant Immunology experience from NHS healthcare professionals.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field (Medical, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Scientific Affairs).
  • Ability to understand, process, communicate, and present scientific information effectively.
  • Strong networking, influencing, presentation, and communication skills, with a proven track record in cross-functional teamwork.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and adapting priorities accordingly.
  • Understanding of clinical development and Good Clinical Research Practice (GCP).
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence.
