Overview

In this role you will translate clinical strategy into an integrated vendor approach across the global program lifecycle.

You will partner with clinical, procurement, and trials teams to align vendor needs with strategy, anticipate demand, and drive efficient program delivery.

You’ll lead master vendor strategies, enable early engagement, and improve productivity through data-driven insights.

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and governance to advance clinical development at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the vendor program-level business partner for vendor strategy across the clinical program lifecycle from concept to closeout.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations Program Heads, Vendor Alliance Leads, Procurement, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to align portfolio needs with vendor capabilities.
  • Lead development and execution of master vendor strategies including vendor identification, early pricing assessments, selection, and risk mitigation, optimizing efficiency.
  • Maintain a program-level view of vendor delivery, performance, and risk across trials, driving efficiencies and sharing lessons learned.
  • Enable early vendor engagement from concept through feasibility, including high-level service requirements and preliminary pricing inputs.
  • Drive program-level productivity and value realization by identifying opportunities and tracking agreed benefits across studies.
  • Provide strategic direction to Trial Vendor Managers and Vendor Start-up Managers to ensure consistent execution of the program strategy.
  • Key requirements
  • Advanced degree in a scientific or business discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Significant clinical development and clinical operations experience, including strategic leadership of outsourced trial activities and cross-study vendor planning.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities to translate strategy into action.
  • Strategic mindset with success leading complex programs and cross-functional initiatives in a global environment.
  • Experience leading through change and transformation with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial methodology, GCP, vendor services, and regulatory requirements.
