Overview
In this role, you will provide trusted legal guidance to business leaders across international markets to enable innovative launches of breakthrough medicines. You will partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic decisions, mitigate risk, and sustain compliant, patient-focused initiatives. As part of Novartis’ new International Legal Hub in London, you help shape how products reach patients while balancing legal considerations and business goals. This position offers impact across global markets, with opportunities to influence governance, training, and capability building.

Responsibilities
- Provide timely legal business partnering to Therapeutic Areas, Functions and international initiatives
- Support Heads of Legal Commercial, Medical and Value & Access for International on strategic projects and cross-functional priorities
- Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks with Ethics, Risk & Compliance teams
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, development, medical, and access agreements; assist with due diligence and alliances
- Advise on promotional materials, resources, congress content, and investor materials; ensure consistent, compliant positions
- Support innovative business models, launches, and customer engagement with proportional risk mitigation
- Maintain current legal knowledge; contribute to training and simplification of processes
- Collaborate with Global, Regional, and Country Legal teams to ensure coordinated support
- Participate in TA and asset governance meetings; contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building across International teams
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer with experience in regulatory, commercial, transactional matters in pharma/biotech; data privacy, digital and social media, and AI considered beneficial
- Experience advising business stakeholders in multinational pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences organizations (in-house or private practice)
- Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
