As an Expert Scientific Writer within Global Medical Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex clinical data into clear, compelling publications that inform clinical practice and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Working across therapeutic areas, you will lead the creation of high-quality scientific content from concept through to publication, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, impact, and excellence at every stage. Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of scientific publications including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide presentations
  • Own content delivery end-to-end, from initial brief through to final publication or presentation
  • Translate complex clinical data into clear, audience-appropriate scientific messaging
  • Ensure all content is accurate, evidence-based, and aligned to defined scientific narratives
  • Create materials for scientific meetings, including symposia slides, agendas, and speaker briefings
  • Perform internal scientific reviews to maintain quality and consistency across deliverables
  • Conduct quality control and proofreading to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on content strategy and priorities
  • Contribute to strategic and tactical publication planning and associated research
  • Mentor team members and support onboarding of new colleagues
Essential for the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in medical writing, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentation materials
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, drug development, and scientific data interpretation
  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate content
  • Demonstrated experience working within publication processes and industry guidelines, including good publication practices
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on scientific accuracy and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and deliver within tight timelines
Desirable for the role:
  • Advanced degree such as Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Pharmacy
