As Legal Counsel for Novartis in the UK, you will partner closely with commercial, medical, regulatory, and business teams to provide practical, risk-based legal guidance that enables innovation while protecting Novartis’ interests. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice that supports business objectives while managing legal and compliance risks.
  • Partner with commercial, medical, and market access teams on key business initiatives and decision-making.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and operational agreements.
  • Advise on pharmaceutical regulations, healthcare professional interactions, transparency, and competition law.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing pragmatic solutions to support sustainable business growth.
  • Support governance processes, investigations, disputes, and engagement with external legal counsel.
  • Develop and deliver legal training to strengthen compliance awareness across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement through simplified legal processes and responsible use of legal technology.

Essential Requirements

  • Law degree and qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Demonstrated post-qualification legal experience.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
