Role Type: Hybrid Working. As a Global Medical Director – Cell & Gene Therapy, you will lead the medical strategy in Oncology for Cell & Gene Therapies, driving integrated evidence plans, external partnerships, and scientific communications. You’ll act as a strategic partner across Development, International Medical Affairs, and US Medical Affairs, representing the medical voice throughout the asset lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of medical affairs strategy for Cell & Gene assets.
- Co-develop integrated evidence plans, field medical strategies, and scientific education programs.
- Drive global innovative evidence solutions, including interventional and non-interventional as well as real-world-evidence studies.
- Represent GMA in internal and external forums and collaborate across functions.
- Provide strategic input into development, lifecycle management, and market access strategies.
- Ensure compliance with medical quality standards and company policies.
- Champion patient-centric approaches and support patient access programs globally.
Requirements
Must Have
- MD (preferred), or PhD/PharmD in Health Sciences.
- 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven ability to lead in complex, matrixed environments.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong strategic mindset, stakeholder influence, and delivery focus.
- Deep understanding of healthcare systems and external stakeholder dynamics.
- Expertise in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), clinical methodology, and regulatory standards.
Preferred
- Therapeutic Area expertise in Cell & Gene Therapies in Oncology or Hematology.
- Experience across product lifecycle, launch, and post-launch phases.
- Clinical trial research experience in pharma or academic settings.
- Track record of developing and scaling best-in-class medical processes.
