Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of innovative tools for clinical reporting on cloud‑based platforms.
  • Drive adoption of new ways of working to enable data, code, and output versioning and orchestration.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement solutions for clinical trial analysis.
  • Guide agile development cycles from user requirements to production release, training, and support.
  • Mentor junior team members on technical best practices and open‑source development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and open‑source collaboration within and beyond Novartis.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to modernize and enhance technical tooling and processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Master’s degree in quantitative or computational science (such as computer science, machine learning, statistics, physics, or mathematics)
  • At least 7 years’ experience developing and deploying impactful business applications
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and computer system validation principles
  • Experience collaborating on open‑source projects in the pharmaceutical sector
  • Proven leadership in developing business tools from prototype to production standard
  • Proficiency with version control systems and strong written English communication skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience as a statistical programmer or statistician in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Previous or current maintainer of an open‑source package implementing statistical methods (R, Julia, or Python)
