As Senior Manager, International Policy Communications, you will translate complex policy and regulatory developments into clear, compelling narratives that enable meaningful engagement across markets. Working at the intersection of public affairs, corporate communications, and patient advocacy, you will play a key role in strengthening Novartis’ voice in critical policy discussions—supporting access to medicines and driving impact where it matters most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and execution of global policy communications aligned with enterprise and public affairs priorities
  • Develop policy narratives, messaging frameworks, and positioning for European Union and global policy environments
  • Translate complex policy and regulatory topics into clear, credible communications for external stakeholders
  • Create and maintain policy communications materials including messaging, questions and answers, and briefing documents
  • Drive preparedness for policy issues through scenario planning and development of response materials
  • Partner with public affairs, patient advocacy, and corporate communications to ensure aligned messaging and engagement
  • Collaborate with regional and market teams to enable effective rollout and adoption of communications materials
  • Support media engagement by preparing spokespeople and drafting materials for policy-related topics

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, international relations, political science, communications, or related field
  • Extensive experience in policy communications, public affairs, or corporate affairs roles
  • AI fluency in day-to-day execution and efficiency, as well as understanding of AI impact on external landscape
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling content
  • Expertise in message development and positioning with ability to deliver high-quality communications outputs in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in earned media, supporting external visibility and engagement
  • Ability to deliver high-quality communications outputs in a fast-paced environment
  • High learning agility and openness to development
  • Experience working in international, matrixed environments across functions and regions
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
