Summary

The Global Medical Affairs Director leads the medical strategy & tactics for a program/indication, ensuring the US and International medical perspectives are reflected. You will develop and execute the Integrated Evidence Plan (IEP) ensuring the right evidence is available at the right time to enable access and clinical adoption of our assets. You will act as a strategic partner to BR, Development, International Medical Affairs, US Medical Affairs, Strategy & Growth and Commercial.

About the Role

Skills & Capabilities:

  • 5+ years in Pharmaceutical Industry experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development
  • Firm working knowledge in GCP, evidence generation activities, such as interventional or non-interventional studies and RWE projects, incl. scientific communication of their results
  • Sound experience in a broad range of typical medical tactics, e.g. advisory boards, steering committees, sponsorships, congresses, symposia, publications or various forms of external (academia) partnerships
  • Deep understanding of health care systems and key external stakeholders such as HCPs, payers, medical societies and guideline committees
  • Understands unmet medical needs, generates the right evidence to effectively address them, uses innovative, multichannel communication formats for effective evidence dissemination
  • Credibility as peer expert with external stakeholders
  • Critical thinker and with ability to navigate uncertainty without major supervision
  • Strategic mindset and able to establish credibility and influence across a range of diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization to drive change
  • Strong communication skills to deliver clear, targeted, and scientifically sound presentations to diverse internal, including senior management and external audiences.

  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Successful development and execution of innovative medical strategies, a broad range of medical tactics and Integrated Evidence Plans
  • Track record of successful high-quality evidence generation projects

Education:

  • MD or equivalent (preferred), PhD, or PharmD degree required
  • Specialist Degree or specialist qualification related to discipline for which you will be responsible is an advantage
