We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director Organization Development (OD) to join our team at Novartis. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders and colleagues in Operations and Global Functions to tackle complex organizational challenges and drive transformation within our company. With a focus on consulting delivery, you will lead projects, provide high-quality advice and interventions, and contribute to the development of our OD practice areas. About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders and People & Organization (P&O) colleagues to diagnose and address prioritized, complex organizational challenges within and across Novartis businesses, to unlock disproportionate value. The role is predominantly project based.
  • Work with business leaders and their teams to address organization challenges and opportunities and create the organizational capability needed to drive business performance. This includes seeking to make the complex simpler for the business.
  • Diagnose root causes and lead delivery of high-quality organization design, development and change management advice and interventions in line with diagnosis done.
  • Lead projects and often partner with colleagues from various expertise areas in and beyond P&O including Operations, Strategy & Growth Corporate Affairs, Security & Legal, Finance and many others.
  • As a rounded OD Leader, leverage deep skill in diagnosis, organization and operating model design and change management, as well as team and leader development.

Actively contribute to development of OD practice areas such as organization and operating model design, organizational health and diagnosis, change management:

  • Build OD skills across P&O and line managers. This includes contributing to formal and informal learning, transferring skills on projects, knowledge sharing, and coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Contribute expertise to the development and implementation of high quality and practical OD approaches, methodology and toolkit for specific practice areas, bringing a level of thought leadership, external research and insights.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Relevant degree, postgraduate and working qualifications preferred in the relevant business or applied behavioral sciences (e.g. Strategy, Business Administration, Organization Development, Psychology, HRM, MBB, etc.).
  • Extensive OD, strategy or transformation consulting experience.
  • Presence with senior leader engagement and facilitation, strong influencing ability including challenge, through consulting, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proven analytical and conceptual skills, combined with ability to implement.
  • Successful track record in application of OD and consulting tools and solutions in solving complex business problems and delivering global projects.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking to diagnose and solve complex business problems using data and systems lens on issues.
