We are looking for a reliable and motivated FLT Driver to join our client's Recycling Department. The successful candidate will help manage the movement of recyclable materials within the facility, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency. This is a fast-paced environment, requiring strong communication and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for in-process and individual operation inspection checks to the equipment and machinery in use at all times.
- Reporting to the Engineering Team & Operations Manager any equipment problems.
- Responsible for their own and other colleagues' Health and Safety.
- Responsible for ensuring competent operation of the equipment for which they have been trained.
- Responsible for correct storage and handling of chemicals.
- Avoidance of waste/material losses by spillage or other means.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Ensuring you must give a clear informative handover to opposite shift.
- Starch processes: Mixing starch within specified parameters; Unloading and storage of deliveries of starch and other chemicals.
- Recycling processes: Collection of bins, baskets and waste pallets for shredding using FLT trucks; Shred wastepaper & board, constantly monitoring for blockages; Remove bales from baler and stack in storage area; Load bales to collection wagon as planned; Keep pipes and funnels clean.
- Operate a forklift truck (FLT) safely and efficiently.
- Move and sort recyclable materials accurately within the warehouse.
- Use hand scanners and tracking systems to record stock movements.
- Assist with basic processing and handling of materials.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth operations.
- Valid FLT counterbalance license.
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or recycling environment preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work accurately and safely under pressure.
- Basic maths skills for stock and weight tracking.
