We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK distributor of timber, wood-based panels and decorative surface materials. With a long-standing reputation for quality products, excellent customer service and investment in their people, our client supplies businesses across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, shopfitting and furniture production.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced FLT Warehouse Operative / Wood Panel Picker to join their busy warehouse team in Wakefield.
Hours: Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 11:59pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Counterbalance FLT to move timber and wood panel products safely around the warehouse.
- Picking customer orders accurately using pick sheets and warehouse systems.
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Handling large sheet materials and timber products.
- Carrying out stock movements and replenishment.
- Checking products for quality and reporting any damage.
- Assisting with goods-in and goods-out activities.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures.
- Working as part of a close-knit warehouse team to meet daily customer deadlines.
Skills Required:
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent).
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience handling timber, wood panels or other bulky materials would be highly advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work safely in a busy warehouse environment.
- Reliable, hardworking and a positive team player.
- Comfortable with manual handling duties as part of the role.
