Novara People are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Halifax.
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:45am – 3:15pm
- Friday: 6:45am – 11:45am
Breaks:
- 15-minute morning break (unpaid)
- 30-minute lunch break (unpaid)
37.5 paid hours per week.
Our client is a respected manufacturer of bespoke steel fabrications, supplying high-quality products to a wide range of industries across the UK. Working from a modern production facility, they combine skilled craftsmanship with the latest manufacturing technology to deliver complex steel solutions for commercial and industrial projects.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their workshop team with an experienced MIG Welder who enjoys working in a fast-paced fabrication environment and takes pride in producing work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out MIG welding on fabricated steel components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Fabricating and assembling steelwork to specification
- Operating laser cutting machinery when required
- Using blasting equipment to prepare steel for fabrication and finishing
- Operating pillar drills and other workshop machinery
- Measuring and preparing steel materials
- Inspecting finished work to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Following all company health and safety procedures
- Supporting the wider fabrication team where required
Skills:
- Previous MIG welding experience is essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience operating fabrication machinery would be advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
