Novara People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Halifax for an experienced Fabricator. Our client specialises in the manufacture of large structural steel products used within commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their night shift team with a skilled Fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and modern manufacturing environment with long-term prospects and regular overtime available.

Night Shift – Monday to Thursday, 7:30pm – 6:00am

Duties:

  • Fabricating structural steel components from detailed engineering drawings
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication specifications
  • Measuring, marking out and preparing steel sections
  • Cutting, drilling, grinding and assembling steel components
  • Tack welding components where required before final welding
  • Operating workshop machinery including saws, drills and fabrication equipment
  • Using overhead cranes to move materials safely around the workshop (training can be provided if required)
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets specification
  • Working closely with welders and other members of the production team
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Following all health and safety procedures at all times

Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Fabricator within a structural steel or heavy engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident using fabrication tools and workshop machinery
  • Strong measuring and marking out skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Overhead crane experience would be beneficial but is not essential
