The Role
We're currently recruiting for an Internal Sales Executive to join a well-established business supplying specialist mechanical and electrical products to customers across a range of industries. This is a busy, varied role where you'll be responsible for looking after existing customer accounts, processing enquiries and orders, preparing quotations and supporting the external sales team. You'll become a key point of contact for customers, building strong relationships while identifying opportunities to grow accounts and maximise sales. Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Order Processing
- Managing customer enquiries via telephone, email and online channels
- Processing customer orders accurately using the company system
- Preparing quotations and following them up
- Providing customers with order and delivery updates
- Offering product recommendations and first-line product support
- Maintaining accurate customer records and CRM information
- Monitoring customer credit limits and carriage charges where required
- Internal Sales & Account Management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts
- Working closely with the external sales team to support customer requirements
- Following up quotations to maximise conversion
- Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products
- Providing excellent customer service throughout the sales process
- Business Development
- Contacting dormant accounts to generate new business opportunities
- Proactively following up enquiries and outstanding quotations
- Scheduling regular calls with customers to maintain relationships and encourage repeat business
- Supporting sales campaigns and helping to grow existing accounts
- Product Knowledge & Team Support
- Developing a strong understanding of the company's specialist product range
- Assisting customers with product selection and basic technical advice
- Liaising with warehouse, logistics and purchasing teams regarding stock availability
- Processing customer returns and resolving queries professionally
- Producing reports and supporting the wider sales team where required
Skills Required
- Previous experience within an Internal Sales, Sales Executive, Sales Support or Customer Service role
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine passion for customer service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
