We are now seeking Legal Assistants to join our growing Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to support clients and make a meaningful difference to people from all walks of life.

The Role

  • Support our Family Law team in progressing client matters and legal aid applications.
  • Answer incoming client calls and enquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Assist clients with Legal Aid applications and conduct eligibility assessments in line with Legal Aid Agency requirements.
  • Draft basic legal documents and correspondence under supervision.
  • Open and maintain client files on the case management system and prepare documentation for court.
  • Ensure files and records are maintained in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, courts and external agencies where required.
  • Provide administrative support to solicitors and fee earners.
  • Undertake general administrative duties related to the role.

Experience (Essential)

  • Previous experience working in a legal environment, in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
  • Proficient in LEAP or other case management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player who can work on own initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
