Novanta is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our state-of-the-art manufacturing operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide range of advanced equipment, from CNC machines to vacuum coating plants, in a highly specialised precision engineering environment.
You will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and a safe working environment—helping to maintain the high standards required for complex, high-performance products.
What you will be doing:
- Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, EDM tools, and coating systems
- Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment performance
- Work from technical drawings, manuals, and engineering instructions to ensure accurate maintenance
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment through risk assessments and compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and external contractors
What you will bring:
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in engineering, electrical, or maintenance
- Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks
- Awareness of health & safety practices and procedures
- A proactive, hands-on attitude and strong attention to detail
