Are you a hands-on Manufacturing Test Engineer in Foxton, Cambridgeshire, where your work will directly support technologies that improve lives, enable precision healthcare, and power some of the most advanced industrial and scientific systems in the world?

The Role

As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will develop and execute test strategies that ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability before they reach our customers. You’ll work hands-on in the lab and on the manufacturing floor, designing tests and fixtures, building automation where it adds value, analyzing data, and collaborating across engineering. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety — from manual investigative testing to developing automated solutions, from deep technical problem-solving to supporting and mentoring less-experienced engineers and technicians.

What you will do

  • Design and execute test plans, procedures, and fixtures to validate complex electro-mechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Determine the best balance of manual vs automated test approaches to ensure efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.
  • Analyze test data, perform statistical reviews, and identify trends, defects, or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and influence product and testability improvements.
  • Create clear test documentation, reports, and recommendations that support production and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of testing effectiveness, tools, and processes at the Newton site.

What you bring

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience in product testing, validation, or manufacturing test environments.
  • Ability to employ investigative test methods and conduct design and/or production validations.
  • Skills in test data processing, statistical analysis, and drawing clear, data-driven conclusions.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools, scripting, or hardware/software interfaces (advantageous but not essential).
  • A collaborative, curious, and proactive approach, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
