Shape a High-Performance Supply Chain Behind Advanced Technology. At Novanta, our supply chain is critical to delivering the high-performance components and systems our customers rely on across medical and industrial applications. As a Buyer, you will take ownership of sourcing, supplier performance, and inventory management - ensuring the right materials are in place to support precision manufacturing at scale. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you will engage with internal stakeholders and global suppliers, balancing cost, quality, and supply continuity. You will also play a key role in driving improvements across the supply chain and supporting new product introductions.

What you will be doing:

  • Source electronic and mechanical components, ensuring best value, quality, and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with planning teams to align supply with customer demand
  • Manage supplier relationships, driving performance improvements and resolving issues
  • Monitor supply risks, market conditions, and long lead-time materials to ensure continuity
  • Lead or support supply chain improvement initiatives, including BOM changes and ECNs
  • Track and report on supplier performance and supply chain KPIs
  • Maintain accurate master data, including pricing, compliance, and sourcing details

What you will bring:

  • Experience in a Buyer or Supply Chain role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and supply chain KPIs
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of international trade/compliance (desirable)
