- Job Summary/Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant is a detailed professional responsible for aiding in the efficient day-to-day operations of the Clinical team for Dr.
Edwards and providing full administrative support to the team Surgery Scheduler.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Schedules ESI procedures at the Surgery Center or MOSH.
- Informs patients of instructions, such as fasting guidelines, medication restrictions (e. g., pausing blood thinners), and required transportation arrangements.
- Ensures all scheduling details are filled out on the surgery orders and are sent/received by the facilities.
- Updates the surgical packet for the next day for the provider with add-ons (to include last office note, testing and previous op notes).
- Email patient quotes for self-pay procedures.
Education/Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to be organized and prioritize work efficiently. High ability to multi-task
- Present a professional demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
- Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's
- Know how to manage electronic files
- Know how to print electronic documents and reports
- Physical/Mental Demands
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Have cognitive skills for math, decision making and excellent communication skills
- Work in a temperature-controlled environment
- Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease.
- Able to lift 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift
