We are seeking a professional and organised Science Technician to provide high-quality curriculum support to our Science and Engineering faculty. As the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, you will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and safe College environment.
The Science Technician will be responsible for the preparation of equipment, materials and standard solutions for KS5 Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons. This includes setting up apparatus for demonstrations and practical work, delivering equipment and chemicals to laboratories, and ensuring all items are safely checked, returned and stored after use. The role involves working closely with teaching staff and students to support practical activities and demonstrations, offering advice on experimental techniques and the safe use of chemicals in line with CLEAPPS guidance and risk assessments.
Salary: Scale 4 commencing £26,403 with progression through the scale over time up to £28,142 pro rata (Actual salary will be calculated on agreed contracted hours).
Contract: Between 22-26 Hours per week to be agreed with the appointed candidate, term time only, permanent.
The working pattern for this role is across Monday to Friday, with exact start and finish times to be agreed with the successful applicant, aligned with the operational needs of the college.
