Personal Development and Behaviour Lead (non-teaching)

Full time (37 hours), Maternity cover, Term time only

Salary: Scale 5 point 12 £27,711 pro rata, per annum. Actual salary – £23,794

Location: Toot Hill School

The successful candidate will work within a dynamic and child-centred Pastoral Team at Toot Hill School on a term-time basis, managing the behaviour, welfare, and academic achievement of students. They will work closely with students, parents, and staff to remove barriers to learning and progress, supporting tutors and teaching staff to uphold high standards of student behaviour, attitude to learning, and attendance.

We seek a passionate individual who will be an integral member of our Attitude to Learning Team and extensive pastoral team, embracing our Work Hard Be Kind ethos.

The candidate should be an excellent communicator and a role model who fosters a culture of high standards, expectations, and support.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting behaviour and attitudes throughout the school day as a key member of our Attitude to Learning Team.
  • Monitoring individual progress, behaviour, and attendance, and supporting interventions to facilitate progress in line with target grades.
  • Participating in the on-call system to support behaviour for learning in classrooms.
  • Identifying students in need of mentoring, providing sessions or facilitating other mentoring opportunities.
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of Pastoral Support Plans.
  • Coordinating home/school communication regarding attitudes to learning, attendance, behaviour, and progress.
  • Using management information systems to monitor behaviour and learning, analyzing patterns, and providing feedback to staff and stakeholders.
  • Supporting whole-school site supervision duties before, during, and after school.
  • Embedding the ‘Toot Hill Way’ consistently with staff and students.
  • Promoting high standards and expectations.
