Location: To cover our centres in Wolverhampton & Birmingham

Salary: £24,500 - £32,000 per annum, (depending on experience, skills & qualifications)

Are you passionate about changing learners' lives? We have an exciting opportunity to join our hardworking team as an IQA. Nova Training is one of the UK’s most popular and experienced training providers operating for over 30 years in Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. Nova now operates its 14-24 provision from 13 locations located across the West Midlands and East of England. Our programme delivery now includes 16-18 study programmes, pre-apprenticeships, provision for learners with high needs, apprenticeships and 14-16 alternative provision. Rated as Good by Ofsted in all areas of provision for offering a variety of education options to young people.

The successful candidate will need a full driving licence and be willing to travel. You may be required to travel throughout all regions; due to the nature of the role, overnight stays may be required. Your base centre will be allocated to you (closest to your home) and be the point from where expenses can be claimed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake internal quality assurance for all qualifications offered through the Study Programme curriculum and Apprenticeship Standards.
  • Ensure that Functional Skills and work readiness / employability are threaded through all stages of the learner journey.
  • Conduct formal assessments against prescribed competences published by the awarding bodies, for an assigned caseload of tutors/centres.
  • Undertake development and mentoring activities for training and assessment staff delivering qualifications.
  • Support and train new members of staff to be able to assess with accuracy and confidence.
  • Support the quality team to achieve and maintain direct claims status from the EQA.
  • Monitor the impact of curriculum on Work Prep and WEX.
  • Drive unit completion to support timely completions (track and monitor via IQA process).
  • Work with the Senior Management and Quality Team to fully implement all linked processes and ensure the drive to outstanding provision is evident in all centres.
  • Tracking of learner outcomes/tutor and coach submissions, liaison with awarding bodies and supporting/hosting EQA visits.
  • Conduct a range of progress and support initiatives within programmes and also undertake observations of teaching and learning linked to the learner journey, ensuring specific measurable targets are set and tracked to completion.
  • Plan and conduct staff training sessions as appropriate, to meet the needs of the business and to drive quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance to assessment and verification procedures, including exam invigilation processes.
  • Conduct audit checks of assessment processes at all identified sites.

Requirements:

  • TAQA or V1 Qualification.
  • Level 2 (minimum) literacy and numeracy skills.
  • QTLS status.
  • Experience dealing with Awarding bodies and hosting External visits.
  • Experience of teaching and/or assessing in the FE sector to a high standard.
  • Team player with adaptability.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Willing to travel with a clean driving licence and access to own car.
