Apprenticeship Coach in Light Vehicle (LV)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Field Based
Location: West Midlands Region (Stoke on Trent, Birmingham, Wolverhampton)
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience & qualifications)
Are you a Light Vehicle Coach looking for a new role? Are you dedicated and enthusiastic to share your knowledge with the younger generation? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Light Vehicle Coach based in our West Midlands region. You do not need to be a qualified teacher or tutor, all of the required training will be given to allow you to share your wide experience with our learners to ensure their success. You will, however, have the drive to work with young people supporting them to develop valuable skills for their future.
As an LV tutor you will be required to work towards and achieve targets set by Nova and the ESFA relating to all aspects of the Apprenticeship by delivering new Motor vehicle standards across the Region. Functional Skills (Maths and English) curriculum standards must be effectively embedded in all sessions. You will conduct face to face and remote delivery of teaching assessments through Google Meets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the abilities, knowledge, skill, behaviours and confidence of each learner through coaching, training and assessment, supporting learners’ ability to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Conduct 2nd stage sign up procedures as required.
- Regularly check and maintain on E-portfolio the ‘off the job’ training records and ensure they formulate a complete record of a minimum 20% of apprentices paid hours.
- Regularly assess learner progress to awarding organisation, End Point Assessment and Ofsted/CIF criteria.
- Ensure that learners are involved in the decision‑making process, either as individuals or in groups through reviews, learner voice forums, surveys.
Requirements
- Level 3 vocational qualification (or evidence of occupational competence)
- TA element of TAQA (or A1)
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2
- Be able to work to deadlines/targets and under pressure
- Candidates must be resilient and professional with the ability to work with challenging behaviour.
- To work flexibly and to have a creative approach to meeting targets.
- Full, clean UK Driving License
