Apprenticeship - HR and Recruitment Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR team in Willenhall, as an Apprentice Administrator for our HR & Recruitment department.

You will have the opportunity to complete a Business Administration Apprenticeship at Level 3, with 20% off the job paid training.

You will be required to play a key part in supporting HR & Recruitment, be used to working in a busy team environment and be able to move smoothly around various projects and priorities.

This is a great opportunity for a self‑motivated and driven individual who wants to work for an Ofsted Good provider offering a variety of education options to young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete safer recruitment pre-employment checks, including processing DBS checks and obtaining references.
  • Assisting the recruitment team to screen CVs of job applicants.
  • Liaise with managers and candidates to arrange interviews.
  • Undertake general administration tasks for the HR and Recruitment team.
  • Respond to reference requests for former or current employees.
  • Process the driving at work checks for employees.
  • Administer the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Assist with maintaining information and ensuring data is entered accurately onto the HR computerised system.
  • Produce reports from the HR system upon request.
  • Deal with ad hoc enquiries/telephone queries and general office duties.
  • Provide day to day advice to Line Managers and Employees on general HR related queries and requests, escalating more complex issues to the HR Operations Manager.
  • Assist in formal meetings, such as employee disciplinaries and grievances undertaking such tasks as may be required by the HR Operations Manager.
  • To maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Complying with data protection regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date with current HR trends/practices/employment legislation and its implications.
  • To undertake any other relevant duties as specified by your line manager, commensurate with the level of this post.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have the following

  • Experience in HR or Recruitment administration and an understanding of related processes.
  • An excellent level of IT knowledge, i. e. Google, Microsoft.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience of working in an education environment.
  • It would be beneficial to have experience of using HR systems but not essential.
  • Adaptable and Flexible able to adjust working style to suit the needs of different target audiences and situations.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR regulations.
