Functional Skills Tutor
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri.
Location: Birmingham (Stechford)
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience & qualifications
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. You will support students in achieving their functional skills qualifications in English and Maths up to Level 2. The ideal candidate will motivate, engage, and inspire learners to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
- Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and prepare lesson plans.
- Achieve company KPIs and individual performance targets.
- Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
- Develop delivery methods to maximize learner progression.
- Create supportive conditions in training centres to develop learners\’ abilities, skills, and confidence.
- Regularly assess learners\’ work.
Requirements
- Experience delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in 14-19 provision.
- Full teaching qualifications (e.g., Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTTLS, DTLLS).
- Passion and desire to teach.
- Willingness to undertake relevant teaching qualifications if necessary.
