Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for the position of Apprentice in Accounting Level 3. This role is ideal for those looking to start their career in the accounting field. You will gain hands-on experience in financial management and accounting practices while working within a supportive team environment. The successful candidate will assist in Payroll. You will also have exposure to basic bookkeeping activities, financial record keeping, and understanding of accounting principles. This position is in an accounting practice. The ideal candidate will also need to attend college one day per week. 80/20 time between learning and working.

Work location: Edgware London HA8

Duration: 18 months

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm or 9:30am to 5:30pm

Responsibilities

What you’ll do at work:

  • Payroll and Pensions work
  • Preparing, checking and running end-to-end payroll (predominantly monthly)
  • Liaising with clients to provide payroll and employment advice
  • Dealing with starters and leavers, processing time sheets, pro-rata calculations and payrolling benefits
  • Providing on-going support and operation of Workplace Pensions schemes, using NEST
  • Identifying delivery process improvement opportunities
  • Bookkeeping work
  • Understanding management accounting techniques
  • Tax processes for businesses
  • Developing business awareness
  • Investigating and resolving transactional queries
  • Assisting with the production of accurate financial information
  • Process purchase invoices and manage payments

Qualifications

  • At least GCSE English B and Math B, or AAT Level 2 Only
  • Previous knowledge of accounting is needed.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and time management skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt within a dynamic work environment.
