We are on the lookout for an experienced and forward thinking Health & Safety Manager to lead, implement, and oversee the H&S strategy across our clients business, a leading distribution company that sits predominantly within the Agriculture sector. The successful candidate will ensure compliance, engagement, and continuous improvement in all aspects of health and safety.
Please note, this position is on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities- Review and enhance the existing Health & Safety Policy and related procedures to ensure excellence and best practice.
- Implement and manage a structured H&S system across the company.
- Drive employee engagement with safety initiatives across all teams.
- Identify training needs, recommend structured development plans, and support HR and department heads in clear accountability alignment.
- Review and improve accident and near-miss reporting systems, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution.
- Develop and monitor a targeted H&S improvement plan focusing on higher risk areas.
- Support and promote a culture of safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
- Produce regular reports and implement recommendations based on incident trends.
- Challenge current practices respectfully, educate employees, and embed safety awareness.
- Evolve the role in line with business growth and strategic objectives.

- Proven experience in a senior Health & Safety role, ideally within a similar sector.
- A strong track record of driving engagement and improving safety performance.
- Solid expertise in developing and maintaining measurable H&S management systems.
- Experience designing and delivering impactful training programmes.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with strong multi-project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across all business levels.
- Confidence liaising with regulators and handling compliance matters effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and report generation.
