Nova Talent are delighted to be working alongside our client, a world leading provider of Communication Solutions within the Aviation & Defence sectors. Together we are recruiting a Junior Project Manager to work across both the Bid and Programme Teams, based at the Office in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire.

Reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager, the Junior Project Manager is responsible for the performance of assigned programmes, ensuring delivery against schedule, cost, performance and customer satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities

When supporting a Bid Team:

  • Develop a storyboard based on agreed win themes and bid strategy.
  • Review and extract requirements from ITT/RFQ/RFP documentation.
  • Provide proposal inputs, including the Programme Management Plan (PMP), Statement of Work and compliance matrices.
  • Develop the proposed programme schedule with cross-functional input and secure stakeholder buy in.
  • Produce and maintain the bid risk register and assess contingency requirements.
  • Collect and consolidate internal and external cost inputs to support compliant, deliverable bids.
  • Support cost reviews with the Executive Team where required.

When acting as Programme Manager:

  • Deliver programmes to agreed technical requirements, budget and schedule.
  • Ensure consistent programme performance, revenue delivery and cash milestones.
  • Review contracts and resolve issues with Programme Delivery or Commercial teams.
  • Produce and maintain the Programme Management Plan (PMP) where required.
  • Assemble project teams and escalate resource conflicts when necessary.
  • Develop and manage programme schedules with team and customer alignment.
  • Track progress, implement corrective actions and update schedules as needed.
  • Develop WBS, allocate budgets and maintain cost control and estimates to complete.
  • Report margin deviations regularly (at least monthly).
  • Maintain the risk register, conduct monthly risk reviews and manage mitigation actions.
  • Manage contingency funds and release where appropriate.
  • Prepare and present programme updates for Programme Reviews and Watch Lists.
Salary & Benefits:

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

  • Flexitime and core hours – 37.5 hrs a week, core hrs between 0930-1500

Requirements for the role:
  • Preferred candidates will hold (or be working towards) a degree in Project Management or a qualification such as PRINCE2.
  • Strong MS Project capability for schedule and cost management.
  • Experience using project controls, tools and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Previous experience as a Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager.
  • Exposure to proposal or bid work on medium/high-value programmes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
