We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Distribution Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of a local distribution depot based in Tunstall, Kent. This role requires a professional who can ensure safe and compliant operations while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day depot operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, transport, and regulatory standards (e.g., Poisons regulations, BASIS, HSE, Fire Regulations).
  • Ensure prompt and accurate distribution of supplies, maintaining accurate stock, cash, and property records.
  • Lead, recruit, develop, and motivate the depot team, overseeing performance, training, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and maintain site compliance with internal audits and legislation, escalating issues as needed.
  • Implement and uphold service standards, operational procedures, and ways of working.
  • Promote innovation and identify opportunities to drive business performance.
  • Act as safety officer, ensuring a secure and safe working environment for staff and the public.
  • Maintain effective communication within the depot team and with broader distribution and commercial teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in depot or distribution management.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory requirements and safe operating procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and team development skills.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience managing budgets, stock and operational reporting.
