Part-Time, Hybrid 20 hrs/week (at least one day in the office). Nova Systems is a trusted global engineering and technology consultancy supporting defence, aerospace, government and critical infrastructure programmes. Nova provides independent advisory and delivery services across systems engineering, test and evaluation, certification, safety, and capability assurance.
We are seeking a part-time Communications Advisor to support the delivery of internal communications and marketing communications across Nova Systems International (NSI). This role provides essential coordination, content production and administrative support to the NSI business. Reporting to our Strategy and Communications Manager, you will work closely with our Corporate Affairs team to help ensure communications are timely, engaging, consistent and aligned with Nova’s brand, tone of voice and strategic priorities.

About You
You’ll bring strong communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time capacity. You’re comfortable working with a degree of autonomy and enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across different teams and time zones.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to tailor tone for internal and external audiences
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational ability
- Ability to clarify and develop creative communication briefs, translating requirements into high quality written outputs
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a part-time role
- Experience or strong interest in social media and content creation
- Competency with digital tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, email marketing platforms, survey tools and AI tools (e.g. Copilot)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience in a similar industry and/or corporate setting
- Genuine passion for internal and external communications, engagement and storytelling
Key Responsibilities of the Role
External Communications Co-ordination
- Support the coordination of marketing collateral such as presentations, brochures, case studies and market-specific content, working with Corporate Affairs for content generation, branding and graphics support.
- Working closely with the Corporate Affairs team to assist with social media content ideation, scheduling and coordination, ensuring local, in-time-zone responsiveness to market requirements.
- Coordinate local elements of media interactions in support of Corporate Affairs (where required).
- Provide administrative and organisational support to the Business for exhibitions and trade show activity.
Internal Communications Delivery
- Working closely with the Head of People to produce and distribute the bi-weekly ‘For Your Situational Awareness’ internal newsletter.
- Plan, coordinate and communicate the weekly All-Hands (Friday) briefing, including reminders and agenda inputs.
- Develop and maintain the internal communications roadmap and calendar in partnership with the Head of People and Strategic Marketing & Comms Manager.
- Draft and publish internal updates including values communications, celebrations, diversity-related events, organisational announcements and milestone messaging.
- Manage the NSI comms inbox and ensure timely responses or onward routing.
- Create and distribute surveys; collate insights and support continuous improvement.
- Track, analyse and report on internal comms performance metrics (open rates, click-throughs, engagement). Identify and implement improvements.
General Communications Co-ordination
- Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team to ensure brand, tone of voice and approval alignment.
- Support rapid-turnaround communications when local support is required.
- Provide structured support to the Strategic Marketing & Comms Manager in delivering the NSI Communications Plan.
- Support external engagement activity aligned to emerging growth areas.
