As a Field Services Multidisciplinary Technical Specialist (Evening Shift), you’ll play a critical role in keeping essential digital services running smoothly in a 24/7 environment supporting government and healthcare across Nova Scotia. Primary Accountabilities

  • Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for complex incidents, service requests, and system issues
  • Lead and support after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and project work
  • Monitor and act on ticket queues, reducing backlog and ensuring timely resolution
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance, escalation support, and mentorship
  • Maintain and improve the availability, security, and performance of digital systems and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with clients, peers, and leadership to deliver consistent, high quality service
  • Participate in on call rotation and support a 24/7 operational environment

Qualifications and Experience

You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science with 3 years of experience; or graduation from a recognised Information Technology Program + 3 years 6 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, coordinating work, or guiding others
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows desktop environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Azure AD, Group Policy, Intune, and endpoint tools
  • Proven problem solving skills, sound judgment under pressure, and a service focused mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
  • Openness to working evenings, on call rotations, and travelling to client sites as needed

Assets include familiarity with ITIL practices and experience supporting large, complex IT environments. We will assess the above qualifications and experience using tools such as assessments, presentations, interviews, reference checks, etc.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a 24/7 service environment and is primarily scheduled for an evening shift, with participation in an on‑call rotation as required. Work is performed in a combination of office, on‑site client locations, and remote environments, depending on operational needs. The role involves extended periods of computer use and occasional lifting or movement of IT equipment. Travel within the region is required to provide on‑site technical support. You will work in a fast‑paced, service‑driven environment, managing multiple priorities and responding to time‑sensitive issues. After‑hours work may include planned maintenance, system upgrades, and project activities that require focus and minimal disruption to services. Collaboration is key—this role includes regular interaction with clients, teammates, vendors, and leadership across diverse technical and non‑technical settings.

Pay Grade: PR 14 Salary Range: $2,912.93- $3,547.06 Bi-Weekly
