About the Opportunity

The Power Engineer is responsible for the safe efficient operation and maintenance of air handling units, chiller plant & associated chemical injection systems, heating systems, fire life safety systems and auxiliary equipment throughout the facility. The Power engineer will respond to calls from other departments concerning maintenance and operation of hospital equipment while working in accordance with the Power Engineer’s regulations. This position will also complete general maintenance tasks, will be scheduled Monday-Friday and will require the individual to participate in an on-call rotation.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following

  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • 4th Class Stationary Engineer certificate required.
  • Previous experience in plant/building operations and maintenance, including repairs on related systems and equipment required.
  • Three years’ experience in maintenance and plant operations preferred.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions required.
  • Knowledge and observation of safe work practices required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision required.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team.
  • Working experience with computers considered an asset.
  • Requirement to be on an on-call rotation.
  • Requirement to work in confined spaces.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$31.24 - $31.78 hourly
