About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Nutrition & Food Service supervisor and manager of Nutrition and Food Services, the Red Seal Cook independently, and within a team, prepares meals using standardized quantity recipes for patient food services operations, as well as for clientele for the cafeteria/catering/retail services. The Red Seal Cook, in collaboration with the other cooking staff, is also responsible for menu planning and maintaining a high standard of sanitation and safety in an institutional food service operation.

About You

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Red Seal cooking certification required
  • Serv Safe Advanced course required
  • Previous cooking experience in hospital setting preferred
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, walking, standing)
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours: Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits: $25.24 - $28.22 Hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
