We currently have an opening for a CHP Field Engineer (Engineering Tech) based in Northeast (NE/York).
This role is 40 hours per week.
Main responsibilities:
- Day to day operations and maintenance including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location and rectification.
- Planned maintenance and breakdown response for the generating assets with minimum outages.
- A commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge, and that of the technicians working with you.
- Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company.
- Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Area Supervisor is replenished and always available.
- A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.
- Reducing the company’s reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.
- Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
- Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home when appropriate. Compliance with all legislation.
- Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.
Knowledge/ Experience:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.
- Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.
- Experience with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30°.
- Fault location, diagnosis and rectification.
- Gassafe accreditation or ability to complete within probation.
- Electrical qualification or ability to complete 18th edition within probation.
- Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, HVAC systems is advantageous.
- Computer literate.
- Hold full UK drivers licence.
