As a Shift Manager with LKQ Euro Car Parts you are responsible for championing our objective of being a world class site, adhering to all Health and Safety procedures and developing talent in order to maximise our profit at every opportunity, making LKQ Euro Car Parts and employer of choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work
  • Support Health and safety initiatives such as zero accident behaviour
  • Manage colleague issues with empathy and discretion, escalating to HR where necessary
  • Oversee the management of the departments, including direct reports and the colleague population. Including leading leaders over multiple departments.
  • Ensure departmental and individual performance meets with the locally agreed expectations, including SLAs
  • Driving engagement initiatives throughout the site and owning direct team engagement through departmental plans
  • Utilise root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement including health and Safety
  • Be a champion for the culture of continuous improvement, focusing on the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.

Deliverables to be demonstrated alongside budget savings and requirements.

  • Hold weekly structured team briefings, outlining key objectives and measures. Individual one-to-one meetings to be held with direct reports on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor and manage employee timekeeping/attendance and HR employee systems, ensuring annual leave and attendance records are accurately maintained
  • Own and develop robust processes to mitigate the risk of discrepancies being created
  • Reduce costs through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders internally to manage customer expectations
  • Working with key stakeholders to implement and support in business initiatives

Skills and Experience

  • Have a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working to and implementing strict Health and Safety policies
  • Strong leadership skills - Experience in leading a team inclusive of leaders as direct reports.
  • Exceptional decision making and organisation skills
  • Knowledge of effective root cause analysis processes and ability to implement positive outcomes
  • Budgeting and forecasting based off short- and long-term planning, operating in line with operations improvements and budget requirements
  • Ability to transform data into actionable, strategic decisions
  • IT literate – working knowledge of all Microsoft office tools and experience with WMS.
