Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment and materials, including handouts, required for demonstrations and practical work.
- Assist students and teaching staff with classroom practicals and demonstrations.
- Construct and/or modify simple teaching aids.
- Maintain and repair machinery and hand tools, and report repairs outside the capabilities of the Technician.
- Inspect and maintain correct use of safety equipment and attend health & safety meetings.
- Catalogue and file worksheets in the departmental document system.
- Administer stock control, organise quotations, preparation of order requisitions and checking deliveries.
- Maintain and upkeep of the Design Technology areas.
- Undertake any other tasks relating to the role and scale of the job as directed by the Faculty Leader.
