Job Description

At NOV Process & Flow Technologies, we design and manufacture engineered pumping and mixing solutions used across a wide range of industrial applications.

As a Skilled Fitter, you will play an important role in assembling and testing high-quality equipment that meets our customers' expectations for safety, reliability and performance.

This is a hands‑on manufacturing role where you'll assemble products using engineering drawings, technical specifications and standard workshop tools.

You'll work independently on some builds and collaboratively on larger, more complex assemblies, ensuring every product is built to the highest quality standards.

We are committed to developing our people.

New starters receive structured onboarding, including buddy training with experienced fitters, product‑specific training and ongoing support to build confidence across our diverse product range.

  • Why Join NOV
  • Work for a global engineering company with a strong reputation for quality and innovation.
  • Build technically challenging, engineered products rather than repetitive production-line assemblies.
  • Receive structured onboarding, mentoring and ongoing technical development.
  • Work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
  • Develop your skills across a broad range of engineered products and manufacturing processes.
  • Diversity & Inclusion

At NOV, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

We value diversity in all its forms and believe that different perspectives drive innovation and success.

We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble industrial pumps, mixers and engineered equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications and company procedures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions to ensure accurate, high-quality builds.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Perform production testing in accordance with established procedures and accurately complete test documentation.
  • Work independently on bench fitting activities and collaboratively on larger assembly projects.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
  • Identify and resolve assembly issues while maintaining product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with NOV quality and HSE standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to an efficient manufacturing operation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide technical support when required.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably required to support business needs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or an equivalent recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Experience in a mechanical fitting or mechanical assembly role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and assembly instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using mechanical hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new products, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
  • Preferred
  • Experience assembling industrial pumps, mixers, valves, rotating equipment or other engineered mechanical products.
  • Experience within heavy engineering, process equipment, manufacturing or industrial machinery.
  • Experience carrying out production or functional testing.
  • Mechanical and electrical apprenticeship or multi‑skilled background.
